Blitz cleans up St. Louis
Each year, Blitz engages St. Louis residents in cleaning up city neighborhoods. Projects can be scheduled year-round, allowing groups to select a clean up date and location that is convenient for them. To register your project fill out the online form, or print and mail the 2017 Blitz Project Registration form.
Blitz is a fantastic opportunity to join your neighbors in making your neighborhood better. It’s your chance to help clean up the area streets, alleys and vacant lots. It’s your chance to team up to clean up St. Louis. All you have to do is supply the energy; Brightside will supply the tools and trash bags!
Anyone can organize a Blitz project! Neighbors, businesses, schools, churches, scout troops and other civic organizations are encouraged to get involved. No project is too big or too small. Whether you focus on one block or an entire neighborhood, it all makes a positive difference!
Download this year’s Blitz Flyer to help in your neighborhood’s effort and find further Blitz instructions.

Don’t Forget! Recycling Carts Available for Blitz Projects
Help keep valuable materials out of the landfill during your next Blitz clean up! You can easily separate recyclables like bottles, cans and some paper and cardboard by borrowing Brightside’s recycling carts. Learn what and how to recycle at your next clean up.
For large, bulky items (furniture, appliances, etc.), please use your regularly-scheduled monthly bulk pick-up. To find out your monthly bulk pick-up schedule, click here and enter your address. If you want to include bulky items in your Blitz project, be sure to schedule your project the weekend before your regularly-scheduled bulk pick-up.
Free Flower Seedlings
In the spring, groups with registered Blitz projects are eligible to request free annual flower seedlings for planting in public spaces (medians, neighborhood entrances, street barricades, tree lawns, etc.) in St. Louis city. To request flower seedlings, register your Blitz project online and fill out the flower request portion, or print and mail the 2017 Blitz Blooms Request Form.
