The Litter Pledge
The Litter Pledge
I promise not to litter and to tell my family and friends not to litter. When I see litter I promise to pick it up and put it in a trash can. Keeping our city litter-free is an important way to protect our environment. I believe that it’s everyone’s responsibility to help keep St. Louis clean and I promise to do my part because “Litter bugs me! Stop it! Don’t drop it!”
I have always done this since a child in the 60’s. Littering affects all of us.
I do my part and have raised my kids to do theirs.
I do my part by picking up trash in the 4061 block of Maffit Are but the alleys behind me need to be cleaned up we need recycling bins trash cans on the streets and alleys and yard waste cans along with better lighting in the community. With that being said I constantly call the City for cleanup of the vacant homes that need to be torn down along with high grass bringing down the equity in our community
I live in the westend section of the city and it hurts me see how some neighborhood differ from one another, mostly just because of litter.
It takes no more energy to keep waste/litter in your car on on yourself until you get to a trash container than to throw it out the car window or drop it.
I don’t understand why people can.t see it.
I pledge .
I work to reduce waste.

I love a clean environment. I pledge to keep my community clean and pick of liter.
I have always felt like the streets needed grooming since a little girl, and have made it my families duty to keep our St.Louis city and county neighborhoods clean, gardens blooming, and litter in the trash. Will continue to keep in contact with the conservation services of abuse to the environment.
I clean my block and promise to keep it up.
Thank you all for your good work. I’ve been picking up litter around my neighborhood for years, and I’ve started doing this in the city on lunch time walks the last few months.
It is up to every individual to do their part to keep America Clean. It is an epidemic and adds much confusion to my brain as to why people DO NOT just THROW it away in a PROPER container. I raised my daughters to pick up trash and now my grandkids and I continue our mission to help by starting off every outing we spend together picking up trash. My family and I will continue our efforts until the day I am no longer walking on this world I call Home.
Light drives out Darkness….being a positive role model means to lead by example and start where you are. I took the pledge and became block captain…next will be the sincere effort in encouraging my neighbors and community members to take the pledge. Support the mission and be a good person!
My community need is based in the Baden neighborhood – 8 years ago I was trying to organize in Clayton and had no support, TODAY! I am still living in Baden and proud of the residents that refuse to put up with the negative behaviors of “outsiders” when they come into an area and treat it so poorly because they don’t live in the area they commute through.
