Joe Cunningham Named New Executive Director
For the past 36 years, Mary Lou Green has led Brightside St. Louis as Executive Director, educating, engaging, and inspiring St. Louisans to make our region cleaner, greener, and more sustainable.
This past May, Mary Lou stepped down as Executive Director of Brightside to enjoy her well-deserved retirement. This August, the City’s Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Director, Greg Hayes, announced Joe Cunningham would succeed Mary Lou as the next leader of Brightside St. Louis.
Joe has been serving as Program Manager for Brightside for nearly a year before being named the new Executive Director. During his time with Brightside, Joe has enjoyed educating residents on recycling, overseeing the graffiti eradication program, and distributing plants to communities around St. Louis.
We are excited for Joe as he steps into this new position and wish him the best of luck as the new Executive Director of Brightside St. Louis!
