Lindenwood Park Trash Pick Up
There will be a Neighborhood Trash Pick Up on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 10-11am. We’ll meet at the corner Pernod and Jamieson (northwest corner of the park) and pick up trash around the park, up and down Jamieson, and on any other side streets we can get to.
What do you need to bring? Just yourself and pair of gloves to pick up trash with (I will have some extra pairs) and I recommend a water bottle. I’ll bring everything else (including buckets, bags, and yellow vests, if you want to wear one). I’ll dispose of the trash afterwards.
Last month’s turnout was great, 23 very helpful people! (And I’m hoping more people will come this time!) Some brought their families and young kids. This is a kid friendly event and please bring them! This can be a great influence on them at a young age.
There’s 152 pieces of trash per person in the US and Lindenwood Park is no exception. You may not litter, and thank you! But, there’s litter, no doubt, and that litter isn’t going anywhere except down the sewer, into the river, and into the ocean. (Source on litter count: https://kab.org/litter-study/)
Come along and bring a friend. Let me know if you can make it! Everyone is invited! Hope you can make it!!!
Your neighbor,
Aaron Dohogne
