Brightside is ready for the Sustainable Backyard Tour

This Sunday, June 24th, The Sustainable Backyard Tour takes place all over St. Louis from 11 AM to 4 PM. Here at the Brightside St. Louis Demonstration Garden we’ve been pruning and watering in preparation for the event; stop by and check out our garden.

In addition to what we have on display, more than 50 local St. Louisans are opening up their yards to showcase the latest and greatest in sustainable backyards. From North St. Louis County to the heart of St. Louis City, people will be showcasing their beautiful yards.

Each of the yards offer something a little different, from edible vegetables to chickens to a Norwegian scarecrow – there really is something for everyone. You can find the locations nearest to you or map out a custom path based on what you’d like to see throughout the St. Louis area. Some of the tour sponsors and friends are offering up restroom facilities and also have maps of all of the locations.

Events like the Sustainable Backyard Tour are part of what makes St. Louis such a great place. The ability to create a beautiful space that keeps Mother Nature in mind is wonderful, but sharing it with your neighbors is even better. This is the second year of the Tour and it has grown tremendously since last year. This event is sure to be a fun and informational event for all.
