St. Louis will soon have more beautiful, sustainable open space!
St. Louis will soon have more beautiful, sustainable open space!
Thanks to The Robert J. Trulaske, Jr. Family Foundation, Philpott Family Foundation and Emerson, St. Louis will soon have more beautiful and sustainable open space!
The primary location will be the highly visible Gardens at Lake Louie along I-64 at the Chestnut/20th Street entrance into downtown. The invasive and non-native plants will be removed and a landscaping plan will be created featuring Missouri native perennials, grasses, trees and shrubs to restore natural habitat. This area is seen daily by more than 100,000 commuters and visitors.
Other green spaces will also be enhanced including parks, community gardens, medians, vacant lots and other public spaces. Planning will begin this Fall with implementation in 2014 by Brightside volunteers.
Thanks to these wonderful donors for their sponsorship — this wouldn’t be possible without their kindness and generosity!
