Rainscaping Grants for Landowners
Rainscaping Grants for Landowners
Want to incorporate rainscaping into your property? Find out how the MSD Project Clear Rainscaping Small Grants Program can help you.
The Project Clear initiative was developed by the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to improve water quality and alleviate many wastewater concerns in the St. Louis region. The primary goal of Project Clear is to get the rain out of the sanitary sewer system to reduce basement backups and overflows. To accomplish this, MSD is investing in a variety rainscaping practices that will slow down, soak up and reuse rainwater before it gets to the sewer. Rainscaping can include features such as rain gardens, rain barrels, green roofs and permeable pavements. Make sure you read about the Warning Signs Your Roof Needs to Be Replaced.
After completing a model project round in 2014, MSD Project Clear is now ready to expand the Rainscaping Small Grants Program to assist property owners with managing storm water that falls onto their property. The 2015 grant program is open to all landowners in MSD’s focus area! A majority of St. Louis city falls within this focus area, making many homeowners, businesses and institutions eligible for up to $3,000 in grant funding. Grant workshops begin in February and applications are due March 15th.

Are there any rainscape programs that will help fund this type of thing in the county? we live in U City where everyones basement floods because the storm drains cannot keep up with the amount of water. It is a huge problem.
